We here at Chictopia receive tons of press releases from brands, and we put them through a few filters before we parse on the info to you. #1 Do they use the words, “hottest” to describe their outfits? #2 Do they use comic sans in the email body? #3 Do they misspell our site as “Chicktopia”? (a;sdkfj;laskjfklds) #4 Do they boast about how “Heidi Montag”, “Paris Hilton” and “Bai Ling” are fans? Next, please.

But there is one trump card: if I would wear their clothes to grab lunch with Carine Roitfeld, then all the rules go out the window. So despite label e.g.’s proclamation that they’re “the UK’s hottest new fashion label for the empowered woman” (oy), I’d wear every last sharp shouldered, drapey, dramatic piece to lunch with Carine, dinner with Karl and hell—even breakfast with Christian Audigier.
